First post

Hello Everyone! I'll start my blog with posting a note about my current project. As you can read in About Me section I'm currently working in Wright College (one of the City Colleges of Chicago) holding Information Technology Services Associate position. My current project involves re-wiring Computer Security and Forensics Investigation Lab and making it more "user friendly". The lab consists of workstations for students along with network racks including full equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, servers, wireless access points). Classes that are currently offered in this lab include Cisco Network Academy and Computer Security certification program.
Throughout the next couple of weeks, I will re-wire every piece of networking equipment inside the lab and organize the rack mounts. Along with that I will fix the network configuration that is currently set inside the lab (keeping Class C private network addressing as is). Currently, cables are unorganized since they lost their labels letting students connect them to any available port on the switch. Unfortunately, I can not provide any "before" photos of the lab since I lost them all (don't ask how), so I'll show you how the lab looks like as of today. I cleaned most of the network, power and KVM switch cables out of the way. I'll update the project every couple of weeks along with details.
